We strive to be an engaged citizen in a variety of ways. Our efforts are focused primarily in the geographical areas where we operate through a range of activities.
In particular, we aim to:
We work according to some of the EU’s Global Goals. You can read more below about each area we have chosen to focus on;

Taking social responsibility and getting involved in our local environment has always been important to us at FSD. We promote an active lifestyle and have therefore chosen to get involved in various sports-related local organisations and associations for children and young people. In addition to these, we are involved in a number of larger organisations and associations that support people who need a helping hand.
As a leading skills company, skills development and knowledge transfer is a cornerstone of our business. Within the business, we encourage skills development, which means not only training and conferences, but also sharing knowledge within and between our offices through joint workshops, solution banks and technology forums.
We are constantly working in our Technology and Development Council (ToUR) to develop knowledge and processes for the business. We also engage in various external research projects.
We want to help to make society safer. We do this through close cooperation with several universities and colleges, including Lund University of Technology, Luleå University of Technology and Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg. We also disseminate knowledge by giving lectures at various conferences, webinars and other training courses. We regularly publish various articles in interesting and relevant fields.
Gender equality is about the fair distribution of power, influence and resources between women and men and is a prerequisite for sustainable development in both society and business.
Sweden was ranked as the most gender-equal EU country when the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) surveyed gender equality in all EU member states in 2019, but this is not reflected in the business world.
Gender equality is important for us at FSD. As an employer, we will work together with our employees to achieve gender equality, and gender equality issues will be an integral part of the entire organisation and its working methods. This means, among other things, that we work to ensure that women and men have the same conditions in recruitment, development and pay, and that we work together to create an organisation that promotes and prevents discrimination on any grounds.
It is our employees who make us an industry leader today and who help us shape the society of tomorrow. We pride ourselves on our inclusive working environment, which fosters a supportive atmosphere and encourages both individual development and strong teams.
Our overall ambition is to harness the potential of every employee and use our individual and collective strengths to drive our current business and transform it in a way that matches the business needs of tomorrow. We strive to be the employer of choice and to attract and retain the talent we need.
Sustainable urban development means building and planning housing, public spaces, transport, recycling and chemicals management in a sustainable way. To make cities safe and sustainable, planning must ensure that no one is left behind.
Together with our customers, we work actively to find the best solutions to develop sustainable cities and communities. At FSD, we base our culture on caring and employee engagement, with a focus on both physical and mental health. We work actively to minimise our carbon footprint by reducing air travel, carpooling on projects, having a bike pool in our offices and having our company cars classified as eco-cars.
We are constantly working to improve the environment and have therefore set several internal environmental targets related to energy and resource consumption, waste management, transport, product selection, etc. Our environmental targets are evaluated annually. On several occasions we have had the opportunity to carry out the fire design in projects with environmentally certified buildings such as Sunda hus and BREAM.
A large part of our work involves carrying out fire engineering in the design of new or refurbished buildings. The construction industry accounts for a large share of Sweden’s total emissions and we work to highlight the environmental issues when there are crucial differences between different fire engineering measures. We are an active member of LFM30 who works for a carbon neutral construction industry.
We have been ISO-certified according to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 since 2009. Both internal and external audits are carried out annually.
We prioritise partnerships where we can share knowledge with other actors and achieve more comprehensive and long-lasting results based on the identified sustainability goals.
We collaborate with Ingenjörsbyrån Andersson & Hultmark, Örebro Byggstatik and BSV Arkitekter & Ingenjörer, among others. We are also a committed partner in LFM30.
