STRUCTURAL FIRE DESIGN
Optimised design of load-bearing and separating structures can provide significant cost savings while also taking up less space. Traditional design based on the standard fire curve without considering actual loads often leads to overdesign and bulky solutions.
We have extensive experience in structural fire protection, with in-depth knowledge of simplified as well as more advanced analytical methods. Above all, we understand which methods and types of products are appropriate in each specific situation.
When designing structural fire protection with more advanced methods, we mainly use our proprietary Finite Element software TC-Fire, that includes our extensive database of thermal properties for a wide range of building materials and fire protection products. The integrated mechanical modules are used to evaluate fulfilment of the fire related load-bearing function.
The thermal simulations can be based on any fire curve, including the standard fire curve, parametric fire curves, external fires, localised fires, but also more extreme fire scenarios such as hydrocarbon or jet fires in offshore applications, as well as tunnel-related fire curves such as RWS, RABT and HCM.
Ever since our establishment in 1977 we have had a strong dedication to structural fire engineering and development of innovative design methods for different building materials and fire protection product.
